This Sinner is a fairly capable combatant, but will need guidance on creating a healthy work environment with other Sinners. Where she lacks in volatility, he excels in impulse and general unprofessionalism. Rather than scolding her, it’s recommended to redirect her energy to where its best needed at the moment—despite his childish demeanor, this Sinner’s intuition and creativity are highlighted best when in focus. Despite his capabilities, this Sinner has a tendency to enter bouts of self-loathing. Although it's temporary, comfort and praise will soothe her mind.

"As long as I live, I will never leave the path and run off into the woods by myself if mother tells me not to."
Vien (Hangul: 비엔, bie-en) is designated Sinner #3.14 of Limbus Company's LCB department.
Vien is an erratic and easily excitable person who frequently lets his mind wander. She previously resided in The Village of Grimmwood, and was briefly a part of The Rats before working for Limbus Company.
She is the focus character of Canto τ: The Nonreconciling.

Appearance

Vien is a short brown boygirl with her curly hair typically put into puffs. She has dark purple eyes and frequently wears a smirk on her face. He dons the Limbus Company vest without the coat, and wears a white dress shirt with a dark red tie underneath. In place of dress pants, she wears dark shorts, and long white frilly socks under the Limbus Company uniform shoes.

Vien frequently wears some red accessory on her person, be it a red scarf she wears on his hair, or a brooch on her vest, she always has a little red with him to honor the riding hood he lost in her childhood.

Personality

Vien is a high-spirited and eccentric person who is first characterized by her bothersome demeanor. He frequently pokes fun at the other Sinners, much to her own detriment. She's best described as a glass cannon, someone who is willing to dish out jabs and insults, but cannot take them as easily, leading to her dramatic outbursts. A point of contention between him and his peers is whether Vien is being genuine, as she plays up her emotions for 'dramatic effect,' as she calls it, and laughs off comments that do genuinely make her upset easily.

The first example of Vien becoming genuinely upset is in Canto V, where Ishmael responds harshly to a joke made in the midst of her obsessive preperations, and as a result, Vien grows quiet for the duration of the Canto. It's implied that not only did seeing Ishmael, someone she had playful banter with, shut her down quickly upset him, but also the general sight of obsessive compulsions disturbed the Sinner.

Despite being one of the meaner sinners, Vien has her moments of kindness when need be. She frequently refers to the Sinners as his friends, and despite her remarks, he genuinely wishes the best for all of them. Before returning to the Wuthering Heights, he frequently pep-talks Heathcliff, even suggesting several cover stories for him to tell Catherine when they finally meet to impress her.

However, her desire for companionship hides a truth more sinister underneath.

After the events of Canto 6, at the realization of her own 'turn' arriving soon, she becomes more kind and appeasing to the Sinners, to an uncomfortable extent. Ryoshu notes of him offering to light her cigarettes for her, and Sinclair muses that she might be doing her best to think of anything but her past.

When the reality of her wolven nature is brought to light in Canto 6.28, and Logan coaxes her into accepting his role as the Werewolf of Grimmwood, Dante and the Sinners realize that Vien's desire for companionship was a result of intense loneliness after being forced to leave her village, and the guilt of being a monster growing heavy on her spirit until reaching the breaking point during her Canto.

After the events of his Canto, Vien comes to terms with her wolf abilities, and starts to use them more as she becomes kinder and more excitable, akin to a dog. He's shown to play fetch and other dog games with Sinners like Rodion, Hong Lu, and Don Quixote. Additionally, she becomes more confident in other fronts, such as in her post-Canto Intervallo, where she confesses her feelings to Sinclair and takes him on a date in District 13's Nest.
